RIT Demo

We had a beautiful morning today, which made for some wonderful riding demonstrations! The riders were proud to show their parents what they'd been working on in their riding classes while at camp.

Our RITs (Riding Instructors in Training) spend four weeks here for two summers learning to be counselors and riding instructors. At the end of their four weeks each summer, they give a drill team performance instead of riding with their usual classes. Drill team requires a lot of control and communication, and groups practice to execute maneuvers like "Crossover" and "Gears".

Here are some pictures from this morning's RIT drill team. To see a larger view of any picture, just click on it.

The theme was "Wild West".

Cami and Abby led the drill, riding Chief and Sgt. Pepper.

Lydia and Emma riding Scout and Raspberry - these two horses are half siblings.

Abby and Pepper looking cool. No big deal.
