Staff Bios

 Hi Everyone! It's getting to be that time of year that we start posting staff bios! We are excited to have lots of our staff from last summer returning again and we also have hired a few new staff. Over the next few weeks, we'll be posting bios for them. We'll start with Ella!

My name is Ella, and I’m currently a Freshman, going to be Sophomore, at UW- Baraboo-Sauk County College. I’m going for Ag Education and overall, diving into the business side of Agriculture. I will finish my last two years of my Bachelor's at the University of Wisconsin Platteville.

This will be my first summer working for Hoofbeat, I am super excited and ready to meet the wonderful staff and kids in the next few months! I’ve worked with kids for a few years as well, my previous job being at the Black Earth Children’s Museum! I’ve worked with all ages, and have found a passion in helping/guiding children in the things I love, like horses and farm life.

I have been riding for 13+ years now, and hope to continue my riding career for the rest of my life. I live on a small hobby farm where I also house two of my own horses. DJ and Dollar.

Here is to an amazing summer!! I am excited about the all the new, amazing experiences I am about to have!! This is my beautiful mare, Miss DJ.

Hi! My name is Ali, and I’m originally from Madison, WI but I currently go to school at the University of Cincinnati, majoring in theatre! This will be my third year as staff and my 11th year at Hoofbeat. 

Besides theatre and horses, I love traveling, meeting new people, and cinnamon rolls. I’m very excited to see familiar faces and meet new campers and staff this summer!

Hi everyone! My name is Sydney and I'm going to be a freshman in college double majoring in Therapeutic Recreation & American Sign Language Interpreting. I’m from Waunakee, WI, and this is my second year on staff. I've been coming to Hoofbeat on and off for 9 years, and my favorite horses are King and Ginger.

Hi everyone! My name is Anna and this will be my 10th summer at Hoofbeat! I’m from the Chicago suburbs but am currently a freshman at the University of Oregon studying business! I love spending my time outdoors hammocking in the trees or throwing a frisbee around with friends. I am ALWAYS down to get ice cream (black raspberry chocolate chip is my go-to)! I am so excited for this summer and can’t wait to meet you all!! 

My name is Olivia, I live in Madison and currently I am a senior at Madison West High School. This is my first summer working at camp, but I've been coming to Hoofbeat since I was around 10 years old. My favorite horses at camp are Tiger and Pippa. I have worked at the Nakoma Country Club for 2 years, teaching tennis lessons and managing! I love playing tennis, being outside, horses, and traveling. I can't wait to meet new people and campers!

Hello! My name is Renate. This is my third year of working at camp, but I was a camper for 8 years. I am currently a senior at Waunakee high school, but after graduating I will be attending LaCrosse. I love working with the kids and horses at camp and can’t wait to start working again! My favorite horse is Stormy, and I can’t wait to see him! See you soon!

Hey everyone! My name is Claire and I’m a sophomore in high school living in the Mount Horeb/Blue Mounds area and currently being homeschooled. I’ve started taking steps toward having a career as a farrier. This will be my third year at Hoofbeat, my first as staff. You can most often find me outside walking in the woods with my dog or clearing trails with my brothers, I also enjoy camping, reading, baking/cooking and doing small art projects with my many younger siblings. Can’t wait to come out, meet you all and have an awesome summer!!

Hi my name is Emily and this will be my 3rd summer working as staff and my 10th year overall at camp!! My favorite horses and Bear and Zeb. I’m currently a Junior at West High School. Outside of camp I play softball and I love traveling and having out with friends!! I can’t wait to see familiar faces and meet new people!! 

Hey my name is Sela! This is my 3rd year working at Hoofbeat. This will be my 10th year at camp. I’m currently a senior in high school in Oak Park, IL, but will be attending Colorado State University to major in Restoration Ecology. Outside of camp I love horse back riding, painting, and being in the outdoors.

Hi everyone! My name is Kate, this is my 12th summer at Hoofbeat and 3rd as a counselor! I’m currently a senior at Madison West high school but am headed to Purdue in the fall to study engineering! When I’m not at camp I enjoy reading, working with my horse Cody, and traveling.

Hello! My name is Jodie, and I’m an incoming senior at Middleton High School. This is my 3rd year at camp and it will be my first as a counselor. I don’t currently ride, but I have a lot of prior experience with horses. Apart from that, I love to travel, read, and hang out with friends. I can’t wait to get to know everyone this summer!

Hello everyone!! I’m so excited for this summer, My name is Norah and I am currently a senior at Oregon High School but this fall I will be attending the University Of Nebraska-Lincoln. This is my 3rd year working but 8th year at camp! I love spending time with all the campers and horses (especially Bear) but when I’m not at camp I enjoy taking pictures of sports teams and playing with my 2 dogs Pippa and Cashew! I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and hope to see some familiar faces!!
