We had a really fantastic 4th of July here at Hoofbeat! We started off the day with our morning skill classes - there were plenty of people sporting red, white and blue clothes and accessories for their morning riding classes! After lunch, we had a rodeo - everyone tried barrel racing, pole bending and roping! The camp was split into red, white and blue teams and each competed to see who could get the best times and most accurate roping! We had a delicious cookout for dinner - grilled chicken, corn on the cob and a cake for dessert decorated with strawberries and blueberries!
After dinner, our red, white and blue teams continued their "color wars" with a series of fun relay races and other contests. After tallying the scores from the afternoon and evening, the white team was declared the winner! We played some all-camp group games and had Trading Post time while waiting for the sky to get dark. When it was finally dark, we gathered behind Hoofroof to watch our very own fireworks show over one of the pastures. It was a great end to a really fun day!
