Week 9 Update!
Welcome back to week 9! We have been having a great week so far, and the horses are definitely enjoying the cooler weather. In our arts & crafts rotation, we made our own futuristic worlds out of tin foil and paper plates, and today, we made bird feeders out of bird seed and molasses. Everyone enjoyed watching the birds get an extra snack! In sports, we had a "minute-to-win-it" competition where campers tried to complete as many of a certain task, (stacking pennies, stacking cards, making paper airplanes, etc.) in just one minute. They did great!! Today, we played different versions of tag, like "island tag," ""horse tag," or "freeze tag." We had a special guest in skill surprise yesterday, Peaches the dog! Everyone got to learn all about Peaches and enjoyed playing with her on the Lower A. Today, we got to groom and walk the miniature horses, Junebug and Luna!
Up at the barn this week we learned how to lasso, learned about different colors, breeds, and markings, raced while putting horse tack together, and learned about horse pregnancy and foaling. Some groups enjoyed looking at pictures of our horses Peter Pan, Tigger, and Raspberry as foals! Weren't they so cute!!
