Hello from Hoofbeat!
It's beginning to feel more like fall here
at camp - you can even smell it in the air! The trees have just started to turn
and we are looking forward to all of the colors over the next few weeks.
We've finished our fall Mother/Daughter
Weekends - thank you to all of the moms and daughters that joined us and to the
staff for helping out. Despite some rainy, overcast weather, everyone seemed to
enjoy themselves! We're glad to have the indoor arena for those rainy days.
Our week days have been busy with our after
school riding lesson program for the Madison Middle Schools. Monday to Thursday
afternoons we work with different schools and do a riding lesson and horse
science lesson. We have around 40 riders each night.
We have a busy schedule for the next couple
of months - Girl Scout Horse Lover's Badge Weekends, as well as Able Trek
Tours, Kirby's Christmas Party, and Christmas Camp.
The horses are doing well and have been
enjoying their mornings grazing the pastures.
Our herd will be expanding - we are
expecting at least two foals this spring from our new mini ponies. We will post
pictures after they arrive!
