Welcome to Week 2!
Since it is also Wacky week, in Arts & Crafts, we had fun creating wacky donuts and food items, made from paper plates, paint, and creativity. In Sports, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and played fun games outside. We started with classic icebreakers like Fruit Bowl, and then played a camp favorite, Spud.
On Tuesday, we got to hang out with one of our staff's dogs, Jack. Jack is a Rough Collie who loves snuggles. We are so lucky Anna shares him with us! In sports, we played capture the flag, and in Arts and Crafts, we made some stained-glass-inspired pieces of art. Everyone's craft looked amazing!
At the barn, campers learned about different types of feed and nutrition for horses, and made some horse treats to give to their favorite horses! The horses were so appreciative. In riding, campers continued to work on their steering, both at the walk and the trot!
Wednesday had a bit of a different schedule due to expected rain, wind, and storms, so campers got to fit in some additional activities! In the morning, activities went on as planned. Arts and Crafts made wacky glasses, skill surprise, got to meet some special critters like a few snakes, a bearded dragon, and a tortoise, and in sports, campers played various group games with one another! At the barn, we learned about all the parts of a horse as well as parts of the tack. Then, campers got to race, taking apart and putting back together bridles.
In the afternoon, campers spent more time at the barn, grooming the horses and braiding their hair. Everyone looked so lovely after an afternoon of pampering! We also got to play various rounds of Heads Up! and made some "Summer Bouquets!" We had so much fun in the afternoon, and appreciated everyone's flexibility with the weather.
We cannot wait for the rest of our week!!
