Week 8 Update!
Welcome back! Week 8 has been toasty so far, but we have been cooling off with water games in sports! Campers have enjoyed making "Under the Sea" themed pearler beads and creating their own mermaid, jellyfish, or crab cutouts in their arts and crafts rotations. We enjoyed playing all sorts of rounds of BINGO yesterday, with our customized bingo boards! We played "5 in a row", "four corners", "blackout", and "border" rounds. Today, we made Salt Dough, a play dough-like dough that hardens when baked. Campers had fun playing "pictionary" with their dough before molding it into its final shape.
Apart from riding up at the barn campers have been learning about how to buy a horse and what you may need to do in order to manage a stable, as well as learning about different "Horse Sports" like dressage, jumping, roping, and barrel racing. We even got to design our own Western show outfits!! For the "Horse Fun" rotation we played horse-themed board games to stay out of the heat and made stall tags for our Hoofbeat horses.
