Wrapping up Week 7!
Happy Friday! This week has really flown by! On Thursday, campers had the chance to tie-dye! Everything turned out looking great! They also played different yard games and relay races! In Skill Surprise, they made group Rice Maps! Each map turned out so cool! Up at the barn, campers had their riding lessons as usual, continuing to work on their riding skills while walking and trotting. In Horse Science, we learned about different feeds and nutrition. Campers got to walk around the barn and see our Hoofbeat horses get to eat. In Horse Fun, everyone made horse treats! They dipped carrots into molasses and then rolled them around in grain. The horses loved them.
Today, everyone participated in the Hoofbeat Color Olympics! This included playing a big game of Capture the Flag! We covered all of the lower camp, and groups competed against one another. The older groups ended in a three-way tie, but everyone played so well. The Palominos were the winners of the younger groups, but everyone else put up a very good fight. We had so much fun playing with everyone! After we finished that, we played some group games, such as Numbers and Ships and Sailors. Campers also got to visit the camp store today, another activity everyone looks forward to! Up at the barn, we learned about different types of bits. In Horse Fun, campers made stall tags for their favorite horses. Their stalls look great! Riding lessons were a lot of fun today! Many groups participated in mounted games! We did fast walking races, slow walking races, trotting and Simon Says. We had such a great week with everyone, and we hope to see you again soon!
