Welcome to Week 7!
Happy Monday! We had a great day today! Down the hill, campers played SPUD and a variety of get-to-know-you games in Sports. In Skill Surprise, campers wrote letters to their future selves. They mentioned things like who they hope to ride, and what goals they hope to accomplish. In Arts and Crafts, we made Olympic crowns and medals in honor of it being Color Olympic Week!
Up at the barn, campers had their first riding lesson. They learned and practiced Hoofbeat's 5s's; Starting, Stopping, Steering, Spacing, and Squirreling. These are all important to make sure the lessons run smoothly and safely. During Horse Science, campers got a tour of the barn, learned about horse safety, and learned how to properly groom and saddle a horse! For Horse Fun, campers applied these skills learned in Horse Science and got to groom and graze our two miniature ponies, Luna and Junebug. We are so excited for the rest of the week!!
