 Welcome to Week 6!

Hello! We have been having a fun week here at camp so far! On Monday, campers played SPUD and different icebreaker games to get to know their group. For Skill Surprise, campers searched the camp for Bob, the minion's banana. Our theme this week is Movies! In Arts and Crafts, campers made their own Hollywood stars. Everyone's looked fantastic! At the barn, campers learned about how to saddle, groom, and be safe around horses. In Horse Fun, campers got to take a picture with their favorite horse. It was a fun way for the camper to meet our horses! In our first riding lessons of the week, everyone learned about the 5 safety S's; starting, stopping, steering, spacing, and squirreling (dismounting). Campers then got to apply those Ss to their riding. It was a great first day of the week!

On Tuesday, we had a heat schedule due to the high temperatures, which means that we did all of our rotations before lunch with shortened times. For Arts and Crafts, the campers made paper bag movie characters! In Skill Surprise, they used handbells to play songs and competed against each other! In Sports, campers played Toxic River, but it got too warm, so most headed inside to play some group games! Up at the barn, we learned about how to care for a horse's hoof. In Horse Fun, campers got to groom our miniature ponies and decorate their manes. The minis loved all of the attention! In Riding, we reviewed our 5s and practiced them at the walk and the trot. After lunch, the camp went to the Mazomaine Pool to cool off, and everyone had a blast! We can't wait for the rest of the week!!
