Welcome to Week 5:)

 Welcome to Week 5!

Hello! We have been having a fun week here at camp so far! On Monday, campers played SPUD and different icebreaker games to get to know their group. For Skill Surprise, in small animal week, campers got to meet our two goats, Pip and Pop. They loved getting all the attention! In Arts and Crafts, campers made mosaic paper paintings. Everyone's looked amazing! At the barn, campers learned about how to saddle, groom, and be safe around horses. In Horse Fun, campers got to do some Hoofbeat Horse Superlatives. It was a fun way to learn about our horses! In our first riding lessons of the week, everyone learned about the 5 safety S's; starting, stopping, steering, spacing, and squirreling (dismounting). Campers then got to apply those Ss to their riding. It was a great first day of the week!

On Tuesday, campers designed their own small animal pearler beads! In Skill Surprise, we had a staff's dog Jack come visit! Jack is a Rough Collie who absolutely loves the attention he gets at camp! In Sports, campers played some water games to cool off! Up at the barn, we learned about the different breeds and colors horses might be. In Horse Fun, campers got to try out the sport, Hobby Horsing! Everyone looked like they had a blast doing different patterns. In Riding, we reviewed our 5s, and practiced them at the walk and the trot. We can't wait for the rest of the week!!
