 Wrapping up Week 3!

We had an awesome week here at Hoofbeat! The weather was all over the place, but we did not let that stop us from having fun!! On Thursday, we learned about the different gaits of a horse, like walk, trot, canter, and gallop. We also got to play a variety of Hoofbeat-themed board games! For riding, our morning groups had their normal lessons where we worked on trotting, steering, and spacing. The temperatures kept rising, so our afternoon groups got to ride bareback, without a saddle. This is much more comfortable for our horses and allows them to stay cooler. We are so happy everyone got their riding time in yesterday! On Friday, we had our regularly scheduled riding where we got to play some mounted games! The fan favorite is the fast walking race! We also learned about different diseases and parasites horses can catch, and spent some quality time grooming our horses. 

Down the hill, we made Music Mix-Tapes and dream catchers in Arts and Crafts. Everyone has such good music taste! We also played some Just Dance on Thursday morning, but switched to water games for the afternoon due to the heat. On Friday, we went to the "Hoofbeat Bowling Alley." In Skill Surprise, we made some chromatography coffee filter flowers, and visited the camp Trading Post!! Thank you all for such a good week! We hope to see you again soon:)
