Wrapping up Week 1

 Wrapping up Week One of Camp!!

We had a fantastic first week of camp! It was so much fun to see all the campers and horses again. We started off the week with learning how to groom and saddle our horses. Other activities throughout the week included learning about the different parts of the tack, designing personalized stall tags for the horses, and of course, spending time in the saddle with daily riding sessions!

On Thursday we had a blast spending time with our miniature ponies! Campers got the chance to brush and groom them, then let their creativity shine by decorating their manes with colorful ribbons and clips. Afterward, we practiced leading them around, learning how to guide them gently and confidently. It was a fun, hands-on way to bond with the ponies and build some new skills!

And since it was tropical week, everyone had a good laugh when we all dressed up on Friday! Thanks for such a great week everyone! Have a great rest of your summer!

Getting Ready for Camp!

With camp just around the corner, our staff had a wonderful week gearing up for the summer ahead! This week our staff came out for staff training, and began making sure everything is prepared for the big week ahead. 

We've also spent some quality time with our horses by grooming, riding, and getting them ready for the summer! The horses are all doing well, and are getting excited to meet everyone!

It's hard to believe that camp will soon be in full swing, but we are all super excited for next Wednesday!

March Camp Update!

 Hi Everyone!!

Well if you follow us on Facebook, you may have seen that we have a new foal here at camp! Our mare Daisy had a little filly about a week and a half ago. We named the baby Merrylegs (throwback to a pony mare we had many years ago at Hoofbeat!). She is super cute and has blue eyes and a big blaze. She is really energetic and loves to run around her mother, the stall, or the indoor arena when we let her out. 

We got a few pictures (a hard task when the subject is not willing to stand still even for a second....). We'll try to get some more to post at some point!

The rest of the horses are starting to shed, so it's looking like spring! As always, we look forward to the warmer weather and sunshine! And the horses look forward to grazing their pastures once the grass gets growing.

We are gearing up for spring camps, a UW retreat, Wilderness First Responder Clinics, and camp opening in June. We know that spring will fly by and camp will be up and running before we know it! That's all for now!
