December Blog Update

Hello Everyone!

Just a quick camp update – we are staying busy caring for the horses, getting the 2025 Day Camp registration ready, and gearing up for a busy month of January.

The horses are all super shaggy this time of year with their winter coats (especially our two mini ponies Luna and Junebug. For some reason they get extra fluffy in the winter!).

We let all of the horses out to pasture now and then to stretch their legs. Even though there isn’t grass to eat, they still enjoy getting out to roam around. We got four new horses this fall and three are geldings and one is a mare. The geldings are Maverick (a paint), Rio (a bay), and Zorro (also bay).

The mare is Aspen and she’s also bay. (We'll try to get some pictures of her to post!) We have Aspen paired up with Mocha right now so she has a buddy and the geldings are all together with Yogi.

Day camp registration will open soon for 2025 – we are looking forward to another great summer!

January is going to be a busy month for us as we have a Wilderness First Responder Course and two UW groups. We house and feed the them, so between that and keeping the horses taken care of, we won’t be bored!

February and March are typically slower months here for us, but then by April we will start to run Saturday programs again. We have a couple of Girl Scout Horse Lover’s Days scheduled and will be getting our Saturday camps set up soon too.

Well, that’s all for now. We hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving and from our family to yours, we wish you a very Merry Christmas!
